
Terms & Conditions
1. CONFIRMATION OF FUNCTION - DEPOSIT / FULL PAYMENT:
Total amount of guests is calculated as follows: Anybody entering the canapé/function areas after the ceremony.
This includes Bride and Groom, Guests, Pastor, DJ, Videographer, Sound engineers, Dancers, Wedding co-ordinators etc.
A deposit of R20 000 will be required.
The R20 000 will constitute an initial payment of R5000, which will be payable to secure the date of the function.
Upon making the payment of R5 000.00, Clients acknowledge the terms and conditions hereunder.
A payment plan for the remaining R15 000.00 of the deposit can be arranged upon request but will be subject to the discretion of Journeys Wedding Venue.
The R20 000 deposit amount is payable 90 days before the function date.
The final quoted amount as at 90 days prior to the function date will be due and payable 60 days before the date of the function.
2. ADDITIONAL CHARGES:
Any additional expenses incurred after 60 days prior to the date of the function will be immediately payable.
Any extra costs incurred on the day of the function must be settled immediately after the event, before leaving the function venue.
This includes but is not limited to bar tabs and additional accommodation.
10% Gratuity will be added on any tab.
Acceptable methods of payment for any last-minute charges are credit or debit cards.
3. REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE FEE:
The refundable breakage fee forms part of the wedding quote.
This refundable breakage fee will be used for any: Breakages, Losses, Damages, Specialized cleaning services needed, Any outstanding amounts not paid, or Penalties imposed by Journeys Wedding Venue.
The occurrence of any of the aforementioned, anywhere on the Journey wedding premisses by any guest, will result in a forfeiture of the breakage deposit fee or proportionate to the loss suffered.
Refunds will be done 3 weeks after the wedding - make sure to send banking detail to us
4. DEADLINE:
Final arrangements regarding the function must be communicated (30 Days) prior to the function date.
Guest quantities can't be made less after the deadline but can be increased dependant on management approval.
5. VENUE OPERATING HOURS:
The Bar will call final rounds at 23h30.
The music will be turned off and the venue vacated at 00h00.
These times may be subject to change by prior arrangement with management.
6. PROHIBITED:
Alcohol, food, or beverages are NOT ALLOWED to be brought onto the premises without prior permission from management.
Any conduct in this nature will result in the function being terminated immediately and the forfeiture of the breakage deposit .
Guests are NOT ALLOWED to enter the parking area unsupervised, (accompanied by the security guard) during function hours.
Guests are prohibited from playing music or making noise on the premises before, during and after the function.
Children are NOT ALLOWED in the gardens, bathrooms, or any area on our premises without adult supervision.
Guests are NOT ALLOWED to enter any of the flower beds or water features under any circumstances.
7. MUSIC:
Function music must be played within parameters as determined by the Health and Safety Department and is subject to a limit of 84DB.
8. CANCELLATION FEE: If a Wedding function is cancelled or postponed by the Client for whatever reason:
Replacement function is found:
Fees will be paid back to the original Client when a new Client has paid the full deposit, being R20 000.00.
a Cancellation fee of R5 000.00 is payable
No replacement function is found:
Client will forfeit all monies paid in accordance with the payment schedule.
If the Client has made a forward payment , over and above the deposit, in respect of the payment schedule, these monies will be refunded.
Within 30 days prior to the function date:
Client will forfeit all monies paid.
9. GENERAL:
10% Gratuity will be added on any tab.
It is the bride and grooms’ responsibility to advise/educate all guests regarding all our terms and conditions.
Any client or guest who fails to comply with the terms and conditions or who maliciously and/or purposely interferes with the business operations of Journeys Wedding Venue will be met with the following consequences:
- Cancellation of the function with immediate effect.
- Forfeiting all monies paid.
- Legal action.
Alcohol, food, or beverages are NOT ALLOWED to be brought onto the premises without prior permission from management.
Discounts and special function offers will only be valid if the quoted amount, as at 90 days prior to the function date, has been paid in full (60 Days) prior to the function.
10. LOST KEYS OR DAMAGED LOCKS:
The cost for replacement of lost room keys or damaged locks will be charged to the client and will be determined based on the repair cost or replacement thereof, including the locksmith fees.
An additional R300.00 administrative fee will be charged to facilitate the repair or replacement.
11. POWER:
In the case of any power outages, due to load shedding or any other electrical grid issues, prior, during and/or after the function , where the fault cannot be attributed to Journeys Wedding Venue, a generator is available on the premises.
The fee charged (on a minimum 30-minute basis) will be calculated at the rate of the current diesel price.
12. KITCHEN & BAR
Guests are not allowed behind the bar, in the kitchen, scullery or any storage areas under any circumstances.
No takeaway food or containers are permitted.
13. BAR SERVICES - CASHLESS BARWe don’t deal with cash - CASHLESS BAR
1 Barman for Every 50 Guests
It is the Clients responsibility to cancel bar services if there is no need for it. ( Alcoholic and Non-alcoholic)
If 10% of bar turnover is less than bar services expenses, difference will be recovered from client.
14. RIGHT OF ADMISSION AND INDEMNITY:
Right of admission reserved.
Journeys Wedding Venue, which includes its Employees will not accept liability for any personal injury or damage to the property of Guests suffered whilst on its premises.
If any Guest concerned fails to comply with any T's & C's, the function will be terminated immediately, and all monies paid will be forfeited.
15. SELF-CATERING:
Self-catering only applies to food.
Alcohol or any beverages are not allowed to be brought onto the premises for self-catering functions.
Journeys Wedding Venue's kitchen OR Guesthouse Facilities will not be available for any preparation or cooking purposes in the event of self-catering.
16. CATERING:
In the event of Journeys Wedding Venue granting permission to bring in any additional food, Journeys Wedding Venue will not accept any responsibility regarding quantities or dietary requirements approved by the Health and Safety Department.
17. ACCOMMODATION:
Our accommodation is an overnight facility.
Some areas are equipped with 2-plate gas stoves or kettles for tea and coffee purposes only.
No self-catering facilities are available and allowed.
We unfortunately do not supply towels or any toiletries.
All bathrooms are equipped with gas geysers.
18. SEATING ARRANGEMENTS: We have 3 types of Seating arrangements
- NORMAL SEATS
Normal seating around round tables - Normal function main meal gets served.
- CHEAPER SEATS (Ideally for youngsters) 50% of normal price
Seating at wood bench tables. NO AGE RESTRICTION - Chicken nuggets and chips and dips baskets get served as a main meal
- FREE SEATS
Kids that sit in a stroller or on a lap are not charged. No meal gets served.
19. DEFAMATION:
Journeys Venue encourages its Clients and their Guests to provide feedback to help us better the experience for future Clients and Guests.
We will, however, not tolerate defamatory conduct on any social media or public outlets.
Any Clients and/or Guests should take note that any social media posts, which contain slanderous, untruthful, or defamatory statements, will constitute a forfeiture of the breakage deposit fee and subsequent legal action.
Any Clients and/or Guests posting defamatory statements on social media or any public outlets without first consulting management of Journeys Wedding Venue over any perceived issues could be met with legal action.
